Chili Cook Off with SouthPark STC

SouthPark STC has invited our Neighborhood Association to cohost the Annual Chili Cook Off this year on Saturday, October 12th, 7:00-10:00 p.m. This event is not only delicious but also tons of fun! There will be cozy fires, lively music and of course tasty chili for all to enjoy. A great way to finally welcome Fall!

To enter the cook-off you will need to bring your chili in a crockpot so we can keep it warm. We will provide all the chili fixings like cheese, sour cream, chips, sliced jalapeños, etc. Awards (including the coveted silver trophy) will go to the top 3 chilis and the chili with the best name, so be creative!

If you would like to enter a chili, please email Info@southparkstc.com. If you just want to bring your appetite, let us know who and how many at the same email address. See you there!unnamed

Fall Block Party – September 28

Please join us THIS Saturday for our next Block Party on September 28th, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Burnt Mill Road between Goneaway and Northampton. We will have the Plated Pallet food truck and Kona Ice since it will still be warm even though it is Fall!  TVs will be set up to watch football at the Northampton end of the street while a bouncy house will be toward the other end.

Feel free to bring friends and family and please remind your neighbors! We hope you can join us for another great evening out!

Please Take our Survey!

We are considering a few different things for Fall and Winter and need your feedback. Please click the link below to take our survey.

Ideas being tossed around include a possible 5K that would be on Thanksgiving Day in the morning with minimal registration fee or donation for entry; a Leaf Removal Service for a fee that we could negotiate a price on with enough participants; and a possible Santa event for our littlest neighbors. Also, what type directory would you like in 2020? Please let us know your thoughts!

National Night Out – August 6

National Night Out Day is observed annually on the first Tuesday in August to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer.

We will gather Tuesday, August 6th at the Playground at Huntingtowne Farms Park from 6 – 8 p.m. to celebrate National Night Out with neighbors and officers that serve in our area. Come out to meet officers, see your neighbors and let the kids play. The Neighborhood Association will provide a hot dog dinner including water, chips and ice pops to the first 100 attendees. If you would like to bake a treat for our visiting officers, please email Kim Riddle at kimriddle1@gmail.com.
